Big blow to trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar’s mother Manorama, police custody extended for two more days

A Pune court on Saturday extended the police custody of Manorama Khedkar, mother of controversial probationary IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, by two days. Manorama Khedkar was arrested from Raigad in Maharashtra and produced before a first class judicial magistrate’s court. The court had sent her to two-day police custody which was extended by two more days today. The police apprised the court of the progress of the investigation and said that two more women involved in the case are yet to be identified.
What is the allegation?
Apart from this, the involvement of another person Sandeep Khedkar and an unknown person is also to be investigated in the case of Manorama Khedkar brandishing a pistol and threatening some farmers in Mulshi area to forcibly sell their land. Manorama Khedkar’s lawyer Vijay Jagtap opposed the demand for custody and said that the case of attempt to murder does not stand in this case as no bullet has been fired, and hence his client is entitled to get bail.
Judicial custody extended by two more days
Apart from this, all other charges against her client are bailable. Her husband Dilip Khedkar has also got interim bail. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court extended the judicial custody of Manorama Khedkar by two days. Meanwhile, the police have seized her car and the pistol which was used to threaten the farmers has also been seized.
What is the matter? A video of her went viral on social media last week. In this, she can be seen threatening the farmers with a pistol in her hand. After this, Manorama and her husband Dilip Khedkar, who was an officer in the Maharashtra government, suddenly went missing. Manorama was arrested on Thursday. Dilip Khedkar is still missing, although he has got interim bail till July 25.
