Microsoft server down caused chaos in the whole world. It seemed as if the world’s pace had stopped. From flight operations to the banking sector, all came to a standstill. There was chaos all around in the world that depends on technology. Just one server grounded planes all over the world. Yesterday, the whole world saw the side effects of technology and the consequences of dependence. The server down incident has shaken even the trust of Supreme Court Chief Justice Chandrachud on technology. He himself said that only yesterday we saw the bad effects of dependence on technology. In fact, CJI DY Chandrachud was present at a program on the completion of 20 years of establishment of Madurai Bench of Madras High Court.

What did the Chief Justice say on the server incident?

CJI DY Chandrachud inaugurated the program organized on the completion of 20 years of establishment of Madurai Bench. On this occasion, he said, ‘I believe a lot in technology but only yesterday we saw the bad effects of dependence on technology. Flights were cancelled.’ Let us tell you that CJI Chandrachud’s comment is in the context of the Microsoft server down incident. Due to a global technical fault in Microsoft’s server, some airlines’ flights could not take off from Delhi, Mumbai and Goa airports on Friday. Its maximum impact was seen in America and Britain.

‘Justice never sleeps’

Chief Justice Chandrachud said, ‘I think it is the love of the people of Madurai that is the reason I am here today. Madurai is called Thoonga Nagaram i.e. the city that never sleeps because the markets here are always open for the people. This city gives a lot to everyone who comes here. It reflects the hospitality and welcoming culture of this great city. Therefore, it is not surprising that Madurai was chosen for the permanent bench of Madras High Court. In this sense, Madurai is a symbol of the fact that justice never sleeps…’

Now everything is fine

Meanwhile, the disruption in aviation services due to a global glitch in Microsoft’s server on Friday has now been fixed. A press release issued by the Civil Aviation Ministry said, ‘The air system started working smoothly at all the airports of the country from 3 am today. Now flight operations are going on smoothly. The work was pending due to the disruption yesterday. And today it has slowly been corrected. We now hope that all the problems are over. We are constantly monitoring flight operations at airports along with refunds and ticket adjustments given by airlines. We are grateful for your patience.
