In Uttarakhand, shopkeepers, hotel and dhaba owners on the route of Kanwar Yatra will have to write their name along with the rate list. This will be monitored by Uttarakhand Police during the Kanwar Yatra. Under which verification drives are being run on hotels, restaurants and small businessmen. Along with this, the hotels, dhabas, restaurants or street vendors on the Kanwar route will have to compulsorily write the name of their owner. Along with this, mobile number will also have to be published.
The government says that this is being done so that the Kanwariyas who come on the journey with devotion do not face any kind of problem. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami says that even though this matter is going on in the media now, but this decision was taken on the day when a meeting was held in Haridwar regarding the preparation of Kavad Yatra. CM Dhami says that the government had received many suggestions that some people are opening shops by hiding their identity. Criminal incidents have also occurred many times due to hiding one’s identity, so the decision has been taken.
Congress is raising questions on the decision of the government
While the BJP state president is supporting this decision of the government. On the other hand, Congress is raising questions on this decision of the government. Congress state president Karan Mahara says that on the one hand BJP opposes the caste census. Earlier a verification campaign was run, whose record was with the administration. But this is the first time that in the name of verification campaign, the complete biodata of the shop hotel owner or street vendor will be on the post banner.
Congress talks in the name of caste and religion
Reacting to the question of Congress, Urban Development Minister Premchand Agarwal has also said that the government is not propagating that one should not buy goods from any shop or eat food. The Kavad made in Haridwar is mostly made by Muslim brothers. But still the Kanwariyas buy the Kavad. The way Congress talks in the name of caste and religion does not suit them.
