In Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain during the next 48 hours. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected especially in many districts of Kumaon division. People living on the banks of rivers and in the hilly districts were advised to be especially cautious about the incidents of landslides.
Heavy rains in many areas of the state during the next 48 hours can become a big problem for the people. Although the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many districts even today i.e. Saturday, but heavy to very heavy rains are also expected in various districts on 21 and 22 July.
If the Meteorological Department is to be believed, while there may be heavy rains in Dehradun, Nainital and Champawat districts on Saturday, there is a possibility of very heavy rains in the districts of Kumaon on 21 and 22 July. In the coming 48 hours, heavy rains have been predicted in Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Almora districts of Kumaon division.
Apart from this, heavy rains have also been predicted in Pauri district in the districts of Garhwal. According to the Meteorological Department, people need to be more vigilant at night. During this time, people living in landslide prone areas and on the banks of rivers should be more careful. However, from July 23, rain is expected to decrease in the districts of Kumaon division.
The Meteorological Department in the state is also expressing the possibility of similar heavy rains in the districts of Garhwal after July 23. In view of the warning of the Meteorological Department, the Disaster Management Department as well as the district administration is also on alert.
Suggestions have also been given to the district administration to keep an eye on the Chardham Yatra in the state. Although alerts have been issued for heavy rains in most of the districts of Kumaon division, its effect will also be seen in the districts of Garhwal adjoining Kumaon division.

Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman talked to the District Magistrates of the concerned districts regarding the red alert issued by the Meteorological Department for Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts on 21 and 22 July and the orange alert issued for Pauri and Almora districts and asked them to remain on alert.
On Saturday, Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman took stock of the situation across the state due to monsoon at the State Emergency Operations Center located at Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority. He said that the Meteorological Department has predicted very heavy to extremely heavy rains in Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar on Sunday and Monday. At the same time, heavy to very heavy rains have been predicted in Pauri and Almora. He talked to the District Magistrates of the concerned districts and gave necessary guidelines.
Secretary Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman asked to work under a concrete strategy to effectively deal with the problem of waterlogging in residential areas during heavy rains. He said that waterlogging is a big problem and a large number of people are likely to be affected by it during the rainy season. He said that such places should be identified from where rain water enters the populated areas and from there the water should be diverted towards a drain or river. He said that in the same way as fire lines are made during forest fires, water lines should be made to deal with waterlogging and prevent water from entering the populated area.
He said that if waterlogging is happening due to blockage in the drains, then it should be ensured that the drains are cleaned within twenty-four hours. He said that in order to follow the instructions of the Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government has approved an amount of ten crore rupees for each district. This amount will be received by the districts by Monday. He said that it should be immediately spent on disaster related works. The Honorable Chief Minister has clearly said that if more funds are needed, that too will be released. Therefore, disaster related works should be done promptly.

Dehradun. Additional SDRF team will be deployed in Banbasa to effectively deal with any kind of disaster during the monsoon season. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Shri Vinod Kumar Suman gave instructions for this on Saturday.
Relief amount given to the affected in record time
Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Shri Vinod Kumar Suman said that relief amount was distributed in record time to the people affected due to heavy rains in Udham Singh Nagar. For this, he praised the officers of the District Administration and Disaster Management Department. He said that relief money was distributed to ten thousand people in the district within a week. This provided immediate help to the affected people. He instructed all the districts to form more teams for distribution of relief money.
Landslide will be treated in Pauri’s Amsaud
Dehradun. The team of Uttarakhand Landslide Mitigation and Management Center will conduct a geological survey on the spot for the treatment of landslide occurring in Amsaud under Pauri district in National Highway 534. On Saturday, District Disaster Management Officer Pauri Dipesh Chandra Kala told in the meeting that the families who are at risk from landslide have been shifted elsewhere. In view of the danger, Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman directed to conduct a geological study soon and start the treatment work in the said landslide area soon.
