Uttarakhand: Harak Singh Rawat met the media at the state headquarters, told two major reasons for the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections

Congress is reviewing the defeat in all five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. Fact Finding Committee member PL Punia continued to hold closed-door meetings for the second day as well to find out the reasons for the crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. He took feedback from party MLAs, former MLAs, senior leaders, former MPs and district presidents from different Lok Sabha constituencies. During this, Harak Singh Rawat explained the reasons for the defeat.
Former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat reached the Congress state headquarters on Friday. Harak Singh Rawat listed two reasons for the defeat of Congress. He said that elections were held in the first phase on all five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. This was a major reason for the defeat of Congress. Harak Singh Rawat said that the momentum of the India alliance was created after the third and fourth phases in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that if elections were held in the third or fourth phase in Uttarakhand, Congress could have won two or three seats.
Speaking on the second reason for the defeat, Harak Singh Rawat said that senior Congress leaders should have contested the elections. He said that if the big leaders of the party had not backed out from contesting the elections, the election results would have been different. Harak Singh said that after the Lok Sabha elections, by-elections were held on two assembly seats in Uttarakhand. It is considered very difficult to win a by-election under the rule of any government. Harak criticized the BJP government on the results of the by-elections. He said that the state government resorted to hooliganism to win both the assembly elections. Money power was used extensively. Despite this, Congress won in the end.
