Khatauli’s Dhaba operator Gulzar has given the responsibility of running the Dhaba to Mathedi’s Laxman Singh for ten days to avoid any trouble. Identity cards of the artisans have been pasted on the Dhaba.
The shopkeepers of the minority community on the Kanwar route are in a dilemma. Some have given the Dhaba on rent and some will keep it closed during the journey. Some people are still sensing the situation.
Asif was running Sakshi Tourist Dhaba of Sardhan’s Lokesh Kumar till now. But as the issue is getting serious, Lokesh is now sitting there himself. There is no employee from the minority community at the Dhaba.
Shiva Tourist Punjabi Dhaba’s owner Vishwajeet Chaudhary said that his Dhaba was being run by Mohammad Inam, a resident of village Mejeda. He has left the Dhaba.
Dhabas will be closed as soon as the number of Kanwariyas increases
SV Punjabi Dhaba operator Monu, Shuaib, resident of Khatauli, said that they have put up a flex board with their name on the dhaba. If the road is closed during Kanwar, they will also close their dhaba. Prince Dhaba operator Adil, resident of Khatauli, said that he has put up a board with his name on the dhaba.
He will close the dhaba before the Kanwariyas arrive. Veer Ji Dhaba operator and former councilor Israr Ahmed, resident of Khatauli, said that a flex board with his name has been put up on the dhaba. He will close the dhaba till the completion of the Kanwar Yatra on 22 July.
Inferiority complex will increase due to the government’s decision
Congress District President Subodh Sharma said that the order to display names on the shops on the Kanwar route is sad. This step will promote social discrimination and inferiority complex. Hindus, Muslims and people of all religions fought together for the independence of this country and liberated the country.
BJP government’s order is anti-PDA: Malik
SP leader Shamsher Malik said that during the Kanwar Yatra, people of all classes serve together. In the 2024 elections, the PDA i.e. backward, Dalit and minority Muslim society has defeated the BJP by giving a big blow in UP. The order to paste identification on shops and establishments during the Kanwar Yatra is anti-PDA, this order should be withdrawn immediately.
