Mamata Banerjee: ‘If Bangladeshis knock, we will give them shelter…’, said Mamata Banerjee in Martyr’s Day rally
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed the Martyrs’ Day rally in Kolkata. In the address, Mamata Banerjee mentioned the ongoing violence in Bangladesh. She said, ‘We do not have to be provoked by the current situation in Bangladesh. I assure you that the TMC government is fully confident to bring out the residents of Bengal trapped in Bangladesh safely.’
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, ‘All those people who are trapped in Bangladesh in war-torn conditions will get full support. Only Bengal can protect the existence of India, there is no India without Bengal.’ During the address, CM Mamata Banerjee also targeted the central government fiercely. Accusing the BJP, Mamata Banerjee said, ‘The BJP has formed the government at the Center by intimidating people and misusing agencies.’
‘Will give shelter to Bangladeshis’
Mamata Banerjee also mentioned the United Nations resolution on refugees and said, ‘If Bangladeshis knock on our door, we will give them shelter.’ CM Mamata also broke her silence on the incidents of mob attack in Bengal. She said that injustice should not be done to the people and it should not be tolerated either, if found guilty, the government will take strict action against TMC workers as well.
At TMC’s Shaheed Diwas rally, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, ‘I have fought many battles and still have to fight. I will fight as long as I am alive, go to the seats where we have won and thank you people and wherever we have not won, go to people’s homes and apologize to them and ask what mistake we have committed and correct that mistake.’

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also attended TMC’s Shaheed Diwas rally. CM Mamata Banerjee thanked Akhilesh Yadav for attending the rally. She said, ‘You came here, I thank you. I would like to congratulate the Samajwadi Party because you have shown the game in Uttar Pradesh. I agree with you that the government has formed the government in Delhi by using agencies and the Election Commission, this government is not stable and can go anytime.’
