Heavy rain continues in Uttarakhand for the last 24 hours, many parts of the state are submerged in water, clouds will rain for the whole next week, 125mm rain in Kumaon

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, torrential rain is falling in most of the districts of Kumaon and Garhwal. The Meteorological Department had predicted heavy to very heavy rains in some districts of Kumaon division. A red alert was issued for Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar districts. As predicted by the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains are falling.

In the last 24 hours, heavy rains are being witnessed in most of the districts of Kumaon and Garhwal of the state. Here, the heaviest rain has occurred in Mohkampur of Dehradun district. 125 mm of rain has been recorded in most areas of Kumaon. Due to heavy rains today, 98 mm of rainfall has been recorded in Banbasa of Kumaon region.

Heavy rains have been going on since morning in most of the districts of Uttarakhand. The condition of the plains is the worst at this time. Due to torrential rains in the morning in Majra area of ​​​​the capital Dehradun, people had to face a lot of problems due to water coming on the roads. When the drains on the roadside got clogged, the corporation employees got the clogged drains opened. The same is the situation in Haridwar, where rain has affected the Kanwar Yatra since morning.

Director of the Meteorological Department Vikram Singh had predicted rain in most of the districts of Uttarakhand today as well. These predictions have proved to be correct. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert instead of a red alert for Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar of Kumaon region due to reduced rain activity. Orange alert has also been issued for these districts on the 23rd. According to Vikram Singh, there are chances of several rounds of light to moderate rain in most of the districts of the Garhwal region. But there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Uttarkashi districts.

Dr Vikram Singh said that rain activity will continue in most of the districts of the state for the next 5 to 7 days. Giving the reason for this, he said that the monsoon system is shifting upwards. Therefore, light to moderate rain activity may continue in Uttarakhand in the coming days. During this time, meteorologists have also advised to be more cautious during day and night amid heavy rains.
