Uttarakhand: Heavy rain alert, schools and Anganwadi centers will remain closed in Dehradun, read the full order of DM here

In view of the possibility of heavy rains in the capital Dehradun and the alert of the Meteorological Department, holiday has been declared in all schools from class 1 to 12 on Tuesday, along with this Anganwadi centers will also remain closed. District Magistrate Sonika has told that this information has been sent to all the schools and the District Education Officer will strictly comply with this order.

According to the weather forecast issued on July 22, 2024 by the India Meteorological Department, Dehradun and NDMA’s Sachet National Disaster Alert Portal, an alert has been issued for heavy rain and lightning / heavy to very heavy rain in Dehradun district on July 23, 2024. At present, in view of moderate to heavy rains in all the areas of the district, the possibility of landslides increases in sensitive places. This can cause any kind of untoward incident. Therefore, in view of disaster mitigation, a one day holiday is declared on 23.07.2024 in all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers running from class 1 to 12 in the district.
