Uttarakhand: Local products of the state will get international recognition, emphasis will be given on marketing, quality and branding
To get the local products recognized at national and international level under the House of Himalayas, the Uttarakhand government has decided to focus on better marketing, quality and branding of local products. In fact, to promote local products under the House of Himalayas, CS Radha Raturi held a meeting with senior officials in the secretariat. During the meeting, the CS instructed that marketing, quality and branding should be focused on so that local products get global recognition.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, while giving instructions, said that along with making the House of Himalayas the umbrella brand of the state of Uttarakhand, work on mission mode to get local products recognized at national and international level. More and more women self-help groups and local women entrepreneurs should be encouraged under the House of Himalayas. By getting the same name and brand for all the local products of Uttarakhand, local products will get a better market at the national and global level. 21 products have been kept in the first phase under the House of Himalayas. But in future, more and more local products will be added to it.
Along with this, the quality of these products is also being checked at three levels. CS has instructed that there is a need to work to increase the reach of all the local brands of the state through House of Himalayas. House of Himalayas should work based on the theme of Vocal for Local and Local for Global. For this, there is a need to work to reach the local products on a wide scale through online platforms. House of Himalayas, along with being the umbrella brand of the state, will prove to be helpful in increasing the livelihood of local women across the state. Along with this, CS has instructed to connect self-help groups and their products with it.
