Uttarakhand: Cases of land fraud are increasing rapidly in Kumaon, Kumaon Commissioner gave instructions for strict action

Cases of land fraud are constantly coming to light in Kumaon. Important decisions were taken in the meeting of the Land Fraud Coordination Committee of the division in Circuit House Kathgodam under the chairmanship of Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat. On this occasion, the Kumaon Commissioner gave necessary guidelines to the officials. Along with this, instructions were given to take strict action in the matter.
Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat said that a total of 53 cases of the division came up in the Land Fraud Coordination Committee meeting. In which 45 cases of Nainital district, 4 of Udham Singh Nagar, 2 of Almora and 2 cases of Bageshwar district came to the committee. In the meeting of the Land Fraud Coordination Committee, the committee also heard the side of the complainant. After hearing the sides of the complainant, the committee directed to register FIR in 13 land fraud cases in police stations. After detailed investigation in some complaints, the cases were also asked to be disposed of soon. He said that no negligence should be done in cases of fraud and legal action should be implemented immediately in land fraud cases. Apart from that, the government land which has been encroached upon should be freed from encroachment.
Commissioner Deepak Rawat said that in most of the cases of encroachment and plotting, the land is encroached upon by some professional land mafia and property dealers, that land does not belong to them. The registry of that land is done by the landowner. The dealer is nowhere involved in the transaction as per the records. He said that in such cases, before purchasing the land, it is necessary for the buyer to check the land records at the Lekhpal, Revenue Inspector, Tehsil level. Also, it is necessary to pay attention that whether a loan has been taken from the bank on the land. He said that check whether the land on which the land is being purchased is in the Khatauni or not. He said that strict action will be taken against those found involved in this act and FIR will be registered for land fraud.
