Football started with a controversial match, Argentina lost to Morocco two hours after the match ended

The matches in Paris Olympics have started with uproar. The result of the football match between Argentina and Morocco which was declared a 2-2 draw, changed after two hours due to uproar by Moroccan supporters. After Argentina scored a goal in the 16th minute of stoppage time, Moroccan supporters entered the field in Saint Etienne Stadium. After their tremendous uproar, the organizers said that the match is not over yet. After the uproar by the spectators, the video assistant referee (VAR) reviewed the goal, which was rejected and the score was changed back to 2-1 in favor of Morocco. Later, the match was played in an empty stadium for three minutes and 15 seconds. Morocco won this match 2-1.

2008 Beijing Olympics winner and current world champion Argentina became a victim of upset at the hands of Morocco in the very first match. For Morocco, Rahimi Soufian scored in the 45th and 49th minutes to put the team ahead 2-0. Simon Giuliano scored in the 68th minute to make the score 1-2. Morocco was moving towards victory, but in the last moments Medina Christian scored a goal to give Argentina a 2-2 draw. This is where the uproar began.

Moroccan supporters believed that Medina was off-side. The match was declared over as soon as the goal was scored. The result was also declared a 2-2 draw on the official website of the Olympics. Seeing that the uproar of the spectators who had entered the field did not stop, it was announced that the match was not over and VAR would review the goal. VAR rejected Medina’s goal after a long time. Two hours later, when all the spectators left the field, the match was held in an empty stadium.

Spain made a winning start by defeating Uzbekistan 2-1

Spain, who became European champions this month, made a winning start by defeating Uzbekistan 2-1. This match was played at French football star Kylian Mbappe’s old home, Park des Princes. FIFA President Gianni Infantino shook hands with the footballers of both the teams before the match. Marc Pubil scored the first goal for Spain in the 29th minute. Eldor Shomurodov scored a goal on penalty to equalize for Uzbekistan, but Sergio Gomez scored a goal in the 62nd minute to give Spain the win.
