No relief to Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, judicial custody extended again

On Thursday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and K Kavita appeared in Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing in the money laundering case related to Delhi Excise Policy. The court has extended the judicial custody of all three till July 31. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody in the CBI case has been extended till August 8.

Let us tell you that earlier the court had sent Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody on July 12. On May 17, the seventh supplementary charge sheet was filed by the ED. Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal were made accused. So far 18 people have been arrested in this case. Which includes AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, former Education Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh BRS leader K Kavita. Sanjay Singh has got bail.

Kejriwal was arrested on March 21

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on the evening of March 21. After which on May 10, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1. After the Lok Sabha elections were over, Kejriwal surrendered on June 2.

Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody has also been extended till July 31. Earlier, the judicial custody period was to end on July 22, then it was extended till July 26. Let us tell you that Manish Sisodia was arrested in February last year in the Delhi Excise Policy case. On July 16, the Supreme Court issued a notice on Sisodia’s bail plea. On which the court issued notice to CBI and ED and asked them to file a reply in the case by July 29. Manish Sisodia’s lawyer argued that he has been in jail for 16 months but the case has not been able to proceed yet.
