The FBI also claimed that Matar attacked Salman Rushdie following a fatwa supported by Hezbollah.

Now a statement has been issued by the FBI on Wednesday in the matter. On Wednesday, the FBI said that Hezbollah had supported the fatwa. We allege that Hadi Matar, who attempted to murder Salman Rushdie in New York in 2022, attacked at the behest of Hezbollah.
