Case of 228 dismissed employees

In this case, in September 2022, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri dismissed 228 employees from the Assembly. On the basis of an investigation report, it was found that all these appointments were made through the back door. The appointments made in the assembly were made during the tenure of Govind Singh Kunjwal, who was the Speaker of the Assembly during the tenure of the Congress and Premchand Aggarwal, the Speaker of the Assembly in the BJP government. A three-member committee was formed in the matter under the chairmanship of retired IAS officer DS Kotia. When this committee submitted its report to the Speaker of the Assembly, on 24 September 2022, the Speaker considered the recruitments illegal and issued orders to dismiss 228 employees.

In this case, now a voice has been raised for action against those people who had made these recruitments. However, this matter is going on in the High Court and the Nainital High Court has also sought a reply from the government on this.
