A report will be prepared on coaching centres in Uttarakhand, a 5-member committee has been formed for checking

Taking cognizance of the death of three children due to water logging in the basement of a coaching centre in Delhi, the Uttarakhand government has issued instructions for coaching centres. Action has started against them after the orders of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Housing Minister Premchand Aggarwal. Additional Secretary Housing Atar Singh and MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari have been instructed to take strict action against those who do not follow the rules.

Also, to prevent such tragic incidents, a four-member investigation committee including the chairman has been constituted for district-wise investigation to investigate the safety standards of different coaching institutes operating in all the districts of the state. Housing Minister Premchand Aggarwal gave strict instructions and said that immediate action should be taken if the coaching centres of the state do not work as per the standards. He directed that action should be taken against the coaching centres if there are no safety measures in the basement and other necessary works like evacuation during disaster. Premchand Aggarwal also said that the process of quick action should be implemented in the cases in which action is being taken.

  • Status of proper registration of coaching institutes.
  • Status of compliance with safety standards.
  • Status of compliance with building construction and development bye-laws.
  • Arrangement of fire exit.
  • Adequate arrangement of entry and exit in coaching institutes.

Arrangement of adequate security measures to deal with emergency situations.
MDDA Vice President and Director General of Education Banshidhar Tiwari said that coaching centers should have minimum facilities. After which MDDA and Police Department have started joint checking action from today. Action will be taken by issuing notice to coaching centers not following the rules.
