Heavy rains lashed Delhi on Wednesday. Due to which roads turned into ponds in many areas of the capital. People had to struggle with traffic jams. Pictures and videos of Delhi devastated by rain are floating on social media. The discussion of water leakage in the lobby of the Parliament House has intensified. A statement from the Secretariat has come out regarding this.
What did the Secretariat say?
The Secretariat said that reports are coming in that due to heavy rains in Delhi on Wednesday, water leaked in the lobby of the new Parliament House, raising doubts about the soundness of the building. Reports also showed that waterlogging was seen around the premises. Especially near the Makar Dwar of the new Parliament. Many videos of waterlogging are going viral on social media platforms.
Minor water leakage in the lobby
In line with the concept of Green Parliament, glass domes have been installed in many parts of the building, including the lobby. So that abundant natural light can be used in the daily functioning of the Parliament. During heavy rains on Wednesday, the adhesive used to fix the glass domes over the building’s lobby came off a bit, causing minor water leakage in the lobby.
However, after the problem was detected in time, necessary measures were taken immediately. After this, no further water leakage was seen. Similarly, the water accumulated in front of Makar Dwar was also quickly drained out through the drainage system. Let us tell you that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had also shared a video and raised questions about the water in the Parliament House lobby.
