Uttarakhand: Preparations for the 38th National Games begin, CS says special training camps should be organized for the players of the state

A meeting of the High Powered Committee (HPC) related to the 38th National Games proposed in the state was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Radha Raturi. In the meeting, CS gave necessary guidelines to the officials regarding the preparations for the 38th National Games proposed for the first time in Uttarakhand.
Special training camps should be organized for the players
CS Raturi directed to strengthen the roads around the designated venues, stadiums and sports complexes in Dehradun, Haldwani, Rudrapur, Haridwar, Tehri and Pithoragarh and to appoint the Chief Engineer Public Works Department as a nodal officer for this. Along with this, CS asked to organize special training camps for the players of Uttarakhand who are going to participate in the National Games.
Directed to study the model of Gujarat and Kerala
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi also discussed about studying the model of Gujarat and Kerala states in this regard, nominating nodal officers for security and law and order during the National Games, organizing cultural programs, publicity and public awareness. CS also discussed the development and renovation works of infrastructure for ice rink, international cricket stadium, tennis courts and horse riding grounds for the proposed National Games.
Discussion on designing sports portal
In the meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, setting up a sports project management unit to assist the sports department in the successful organization of the National Games and designing and developing an integrated sports portal and app to operate the games management system were also discussed.
