Uttar Pradesh: Priest absconded with 1.9 crore rupees from the donation box of the temple in Mathura… 71 lakh 92 thousand rupees were found at his home, made an excuse of depositing it in the bank

In Mathura’s Govardhan, the sevayat (priest) absconded with the donation amount of one crore nine lakh rupees received in the temple. He had left to deposit the money in the bank, but then he neither reached the bank nor returned to the temple. The priest’s phone is switched off. The temple manager had lodged a complaint in this matter, after which the Govardhan police and the temple administration were searching for the missing priest.

According to the information, the sevayat (priest) of the main temple Mukut Mukharbind of Govardhan police station area was accused of absconding with Rs 1,09,37,200. A complaint was lodged in the police station regarding this, in which the temple manager Chandra Vinod Kaushik had said that on Monday, sevayat Dinesh Chand had gone to deposit about one crore nine lakh rupees of the temple’s contract amount in Union Bank of India.

The accused priest is a resident of Dasvisa of Govardhan. He did not deposit the temple’s money in the bank by committing fraud and absconded with all the money. Since then his phone is switched off. After receiving the complaint, the police started investigating the matter. The police have recovered 71 lakh 92 thousand rupees from the house of the accused. These notes were kept in sacks. Along with this, the remaining amount is being searched.

What did the Superintendent of Police say about the whole matter?

Regarding this whole matter, SP Rural Triguna Visen told on the phone that efforts are being made to arrest the accused. His wife has recovered the money from the house by informing the police. 72 lakh rupees have been recovered from there. Right now the accused is absconding. The temple receiver told that the investigation of the remaining money is going on, whatever is left, whatever appropriate action is required for recovery soon, will be done as per the court order.
