Uttarakhand: Tree plantation program organized in SGRR Inter College on the occasion of folk festival ‘Harela’, CM Dhami participated

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday participated in the tree plantation program organized on the occasion of Uttarakhand’s folk festival ‘Harela’ at Shri Gururam Rai Inter College, Mothrowala, Dehradun. On this occasion, he gave the message of environmental protection by planting a sapling.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that today Harela festival is being celebrated in Uttarakhand as well as all over the country. In Sanatan culture, there is a tradition of worshiping nature as mother. We worship nature in some form or the other, Harela festival is also a festival of serving nature. He said that conservation of our heritage and nature is necessary. Harela festival is a festival to take a pledge to preserve nature. Trees and plants are an integral part of our life.

The Chief Minister said that to maintain the balance of nature and environment, tree plantation will have to be done with public participation. Tree plantation protects against natural disasters. It is necessary to plant trees on a large scale to give a clean environment to the coming generation. The entire state is affected by disaster in any part of the state. We are facing problems like deforestation, contamination of water sources, the solution to which is plantation. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all the countrymen to plant “one tree in the name of mother”.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is progressing rapidly in every field. Along with development in India, many works are being done in the field of environmental protection. The work of All Weather Road, Highway, Railway, Expressway is in progress in the state. Under the Smart City project, focus is being laid on ease of living. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the state government is taking many important decisions for the overall development of every city and expansion of public facilities.

The Chief Minister said that smooth traffic and market area is being developed in Dehradun city. In the coming time, after the construction of Dehradun Delhi Elevated Road, the number of tourists in Dehradun and nearby cities will increase rapidly. In Dehradun, the work of widening of Menhuwala main road from Prince Chowk to Saharanpur Chowk and shifting of Aadhat Bazaar, widening of road from Indresh Hospital to Kargi Chowk is in progress. Work is underway for supply of drinking water in Menhuwala cluster area at a cost of Rs 72 crore. Work is underway for sewer line and drainage in Dehradun, Vidya Vihar, Bindal river to Rispana river area and other areas at a cost of Rs 600 crore. Work is going on at Restcamp and Bhandaribag flyover at a cost of Rs 37 crore.

The Chief Minister said that under the Namami Gange scheme, work is going on for a sewer treatment plant with a capacity of 15 MLD in Mothrowala area of ​​Dehradun. He said that all development works are progressing rapidly with the inspiration of Prime Minister Modi. The state government is moving rapidly in the right direction to make Uttarakhand the leading state of the country, and the proof of this is that the state has secured the first position in the country in the index of Sustainable Development Goals. He said that along with planting trees, we have to protect them as well. The state government is moving ahead on the path of development with the coordination of ecology and economy. We are assessing the carrying capacity of the cities located in the hilly areas of the state. On this basis, these areas will be developed. He said that the work of safe evacuation of devotees stranded on the Kedarnath Yatra route has been done rapidly.

Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat said that today Harela festival is celebrated as a social festival in the entire state. The folk festival of Uttarakhand has taken a wider form, the society has accepted this festival. We have to plant trees for ourselves and the coming generation. It is wrong to blame trees for forest fires, it is the duty of all of us to protect trees.

MLA Vinod Chamoli said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, work is being done rapidly in every field in the state. He placed various demands of Dharampur Assembly before the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister said that these demands will be examined and appropriate solution will be found.
