Chhattisgarh: There was gold worth 50 lakhs in the scooty’s trunk… he parked it in front of a shop and went to eat biryani, when he returned the scooty was stolen

In Chhattisgarh’s Durg, two bullion traders stole their friend’s gold worth Rs 50 lakh. This gold was kept in a scooty. When the accused got a clue, they stole the scooty. When the police received a complaint in this matter, a case was registered and the accused were traced. The police arrested two accused and seized 9 biscuits of 750 grams of gold from their possession.
Durg SP Jitendra Shukla said that Sagar Himmat Jare, a resident of Vaishali Nagar, had lodged a complaint at the Supela police station on July 25 that his scooty had been stolen. Gold worth Rs 50 lakh was kept in the scooty’s trunk. After receiving this complaint, the police investigated the matter and found out the truth.
The victim told the police that he works as a gold smelter at the JBR refinery in Durg. On July 25, he took gold from his shop, kept it in the scooty’s trunk and left at 9 pm. After this, he parked the scooty in front of Ansari Biryani shop located in Supela Market. When he came out after eating food from there, he saw that the scooty was missing.
The SP directed the Crime Branch and Supela Police team to take action in this case. The police inspected the spot and searched the CCTV footage installed on the roads. CCTV revealed that two people had arrived on a bike at the spot. Those people were wearing raincoats. Both of them stole the scooty.
During investigation, the police came to know that the incident was carried out by 45-year-old Naresh Soni and 38-year-old Anand Soni. The police arrested one accused, but the second accused had gone to Sehore in Madhya Pradesh to perform Rudrabhishek after the incident. As soon as he returned, the police arrested him too.
The SP said that a scooty was stolen in the Supela police station area at 9 pm on July 25, in whose complaint the victim had said that about seven and a half hundred grams of gold was kept in the scooty. After the complaint, the police investigated and arrested two accused. 750 grams of gold, which was worth Rs 49 to 50 lakh, was seized from them.
