Bihar’s ‘Lady Singham’ SP Kamya Mishra resigned, said- I am not interested in my job

Darbhanga Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamya Mishra has resigned from her post. She sent the resignation letter to the police headquarters on Monday. This has been confirmed by Rural SP Kamya Mishra herself. She has cited personal and family reasons in the letter. At present, consent from the headquarters is awaited.
In the conversation, Kamya Mishra said that she is the only daughter of her parents. There is a big business there. I am not able to manage it. I am also not able to manage the family. No one leaves such a good job just like that.
Solved the Jitan Sahni murder case in a short time
It is known that recently Kamya Mishra solved the murder of Jitan Sahni, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahni, in a short time. Kamya Mishra was given the responsibility of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by DIG Baburam for this high profile case. Five accused were arrested in the case.
Passed UPSC exam at the age of 22
At the age of 22, Kamya Mishra passed the UPSC exam in the first attempt in the year 2019 and got Himachal Pradesh IPS cadre. In 2021, she got transferred to Bihar cadre.
Kamya Mishra’s husband Awadhesh Dixit is a 2021 batch IPS officer. Currently posted as City SP in Muzaffarpur. SSP Jagunath Reddy Jalareddy said that a letter has been received regarding the resignation. It is being sent to the headquarters.
Kamya Mishra became the first rural SP of Darbhanga
After the post of Rural SP was created in the district, Kamya Mishra became the first rural SP of Darbhanga on March 7, 2024. Before the Rural SP, she was posted as ASP in Patna Secretariat. Kamya secured 172nd rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. She was selected for the IPS cadre.
‘Not interested in the job’
Kamya Mishra made her name famous by doing excellent policing in her short tenure of five years. She is also known as ‘Lady Singham’ in Bihar. Kamya is a resident of Odisha. She became an IPS officer after completing her BA from Delhi University. She was talking about resigning for the last several months. She used to say repeatedly that she was not interested in the job.
From police officers to employees, everyone was taking the resignation as a joke. A copy of the resignation has also come to the SSP office. However, no information has been given to the district from the police headquarters so far.
