Uttarakhand: Government will honor good taxpayers, Finance Minister said this scheme will continue
Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal said, good taxpayer traders who are filing tax returns honestly will be honored by the state government. With the cooperation of traders, Uttarakhand ranks second in the country in GST collection. In July 2024, GST collection of Rs 815 crore was done, which is 30 percent more than last year.
On Friday, a workshop was organized at a hotel on Rajpur Road in collaboration with the State Tax Department and Industries Association of Uttarakhand on the decisions taken in the GST Council meeting and the proposed changes in the GST provisions in the Union Budget, in which traders and entrepreneurs were informed about the changes made in the provisions.
The Finance Minister said, the Bill Lao Inam Pao scheme has ended on 31 March 2024. A lot of enthusiasm was seen among the consumers regarding the scheme. Said, the scheme can be extended on the demand of the public. For this, the department was asked to make a proposal. Said, the central and state government are constantly making efforts to eliminate tax related disputes in business, to make business easy and simple.
The government is constantly communicating with the traders. The Finance Minister said, the state government is constantly communicating with the traders to solve the problems faced by the business. Some people are spreading misconceptions about the Union Budget that it is the budget of the states of Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, whereas the budget is made keeping in view the entire country. In the workshop, Manish Mishra and Anupam Verma gave a presentation about the GST provisions.
