Uttarakhand: Rain wreaks havoc, debris falls near Chhinka on Badrinath Highway, traffic disrupted

Rain continues in the hill districts of Uttarakhand. Due to heavy rains, the road has been blocked due to debris near Chhinka on Badrinath National Highway. Due to which many passengers are stuck on the highway.

Due to heavy rains, incidents of landslides are being seen in the hill districts. Around 10:30 am on Sunday, the Badrinath National Highway has been blocked due to debris near Chhinka Chamoli. Due to which passengers are facing difficulties. The BRO team is trying to make the road smooth.

IMD issued heavy rain alert

According to the forecast issued by the Director of Meteorological Department Vikram Singh, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at some places in Chamoli and Bageshwar districts on Sunday. Orange alert for rain has been issued in these districts. While there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Almora, Champawat, Nainital districts.
