Haridwar’s Roorkee Kotwali Police has arrested a Bangladeshi citizen who was living secretly by changing his identity. According to the information, on Sunday, some people saw a suspicious person roaming around the BEG Army Area in Dhandera village area of ​​Roorkee Civil Line Kotwali area. People got suspicious of his speech. After which people informed the police about it. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and brought the suspect to the police station for questioning.

Bangla expert had to be called from IIT Roorkee

Police told that the language of the suspect was foreign, which probably seemed to be Bengali language. No person on the spot knew Bengali language, on which the police team called IIT Roorkee’s security officer Devashish Bhowmik, who knows Bengali language from IIT Roorkee. After this, when the suspect was asked his name and address in Bangla language, the Bangladeshi citizen told his name as Rahimul son of Vasumul resident of Hakimpur Pabna Rajshahi, Bangladesh, age 50 years.

Entered India’s border secretly

The Bangladeshi citizen further told that, 3 months ago he crossed the Bainapur border from Bangladesh to earn money and entered the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal state of India. From here he came to Kolkata (West Bengal) via Murshidabad Sealdah by Jammu Tawi train and was roaming around in India for two-three months. The Bangladeshi further told that, ‘I had heard that the Urs fair is going to be held in Kaliyar, so I came to Roorkee by train today and was roaming in Dhandera regarding accommodation arrangements. I would stay in Roorkee till the Urs fair starts in Kaliyar.

Police registered a case

When the police team asked Rahimul for his visa, passport, ID related to his entry into India, he could not show it. After this, the police registered a case under the relevant sections as Rahimul is a resident of Bangladesh and found illegally entering India without passport, visa and residing there. Along with this, the Bangladeshi citizen is being questioned intensively by different agencies.

Intelligence department alert

On the other hand, the police and intelligence department have become alert since the Bangladeshi citizen was found in Roorkee. The intelligence department is also keeping a close watch on the reactions being made on social media at the local level. Along with this, reactions are also being monitored in minority dominated areas. Apart from this, the police and intelligence department are continuously collecting information about people living in Bangladesh from Haridwar district.

Dhandera village is adjacent to the army area

The place from where the police has arrested the Bangladeshi citizen. The area around that Dhandera village is adjacent to the army area. In such a situation, the police and the intelligence department are engaged in intensive interrogation of the Bangladeshi. Many Bangladeshis have been caught from Roorkee area before

Many Bangladeshi citizens have been caught from Roorkee and Piran Kaliyar area in the past. Some of them are in jail and some have been made to enter the Bangladesh border by the police. If the police and the intelligence department are to be believed, three Bangladeshis have been caught from Roorkee and Piran Kaliyar in the last five years.

The police already suspected the son The police immediately registered a case against the son and started investigation. After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
