Hezbollah launches major attack in northern Israel, fires 10 rockets

Hezbollah has carried out a major attack in northern Israel. According to the Israel Times, 10 rockets were fired by Hezbollah. According to reports, Israel’s air defense system failed to destroy many rockets. However, so far there is no news of loss of life or property in this rocket attack.

Earlier on Sunday, Hezbollah carried out several consecutive drone attacks on an Israeli base located southwest of the city of Safed in northern Israel. Hezbollah said in a statement, “On Saturday, Islamic resistance fighters carried out an airstrike with suicide drones on the Michve Elon base.” The base houses forces and emergency warehouses for the Israeli Northern Corps, southwest of the city of Safed, so Hezbollah targeted the positions of officers and soldiers and attacked them directly, injuring several people. Hezbollah said the attack was a response to the killing of a Hamas official in a raid in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon on Friday.

Earlier, an Israeli drone attack killed Hamas official Samar al-Haj east of the city of Sidon on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported. Meanwhile, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua news agency on condition of anonymity that Israeli drones and fighter jets carried out 10 airstrikes on six villages and towns in the border region of southern Lebanon during the day, injuring three civilians and destroying 18 houses.

There is an atmosphere of apprehension in Lebanon after Israel’s attack on Dahiyah in the southern suburbs of Beirut. Hezbollah’s senior military commander Fouad Shokor was killed in this attack. Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah has threatened retaliation.
