Wall of Amkhadi drain broken

The wall of Amkhadi drain in Kathgodam area was broken due to rain. Due to which water and mud has entered the houses of people in many nearby areas. On receiving the information, the administration team reached the spot and got it cleaned. At the same time, late last night, a lot of water had come in the drain near 52 Danth in Fatehpur. During this time, a car was swept away in the strong flow of water. Fortunately, both the people sitting in the car saved their lives by jumping out of the car.

Damage is being assessed

SDM Paritosh Verma said that there has been a lot of damage in Haldwani and its surrounding areas. Which is being assessed. Whatever damage has been caused to the people whose houses were flooded with water and mud due to the breaking of the wall of Amkhadi drain. The administration has identified more than 100 such people. All have been given assistance from the disaster fund.

The disaster management team is on alert mode

SDM Paritosh Verma said that people are being appealed not to travel unnecessarily during the rainy season. He said that when rivers, streams and culverts flow at high speed, no one should travel unnecessarily and try to cross them. During the rainy season, the administration is available 24 hours to help the people.

IMD issued a heavy rain alert

According to the Director of the Meteorological Department, Vikram Singh, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the areas around the capital Dehradun, including Pauri, Tehri, Nainital, Bageshwar and Champawat today. For which the meteorologists have issued a yellow alert. While in the remaining districts too, there is a possibility of heavy rain with partial clouds.
