Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat inspected Tiffin Top Peak – Dorothy Seat on Thursday. During the inspection, he instructed the forest department officials to install signage for information for tourists and local people on the Tiffin Top route. He also talked about installing boards at various places to provide information about different species of trees and plants on the route.
Commissioner Deepak Rawat said that Dorothy Seat is at an altitude of 22 hundred meters, and is also important from the tourism point of view. Thousands of people reach here during the season for trekking, but due to heavy rains in the past few days, Tiffin Top – Dorothy Seat came under the grip of landslide. Due to which most of the Tiffin Top Peak – Dorothy Seat has been broken. Keeping in view the safety of tourists, at present the movement of tourists and local people in Tiffin Top – Dorothy Seat is completely closed.
During the inspection, Commissioner Deepak Rawat said that major protection work is required in Tiffin Top Peak – Dorothy Seat. In this sequence, departmental officers of Forest Department, Municipality, Allegation, PWD etc. have done a joint inspection-survey. A better DPR will be prepared to rebuild Dorothy Seat with priority. Along with this, it will be made even better and more attractive. In which light, water, toilet, eco-friendly tourism and other facilities will also be provided. So that the old history, information and identity of Tiffin Top – Dorothy Seat remains. Which will also promote tourism.
During this, KMVN MD Sandeep Tiwari, DFO Chandrashekhar Joshi, SDM Pramod Kumar, EE Public Works Department Ratnesh Saxena, EO Municipality Pooja Arya, along with many departmental officers were present.
