‘CBI should show that it is not a caged parrot’, why did the Supreme Court say so?

Today, on Friday, the Supreme Court has given a big decision in the Delhi liquor scam case. In the CBI case, the court has granted bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. The court granted bail to Kejriwal on a bond of Rs 10 lakh and two bail amounts. While granting bail to Kejriwal, Supreme Court Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan has made a strong comment. He has even advised the CBI to remove the notion of a caged parrot. Let us know what else the Supreme Court has said.

Question on the timing of Kejriwal’s arrest

Justice Bhuiyan, while granting bail to Kejriwal, questioned the timing of Kejriwal’s arrest by the CBI and said that the purpose of the agency was to obstruct his bail in the ED case. Justice Bhuiyan said that it seems that the CBI became active and sought his custody only after Kejriwal was granted regular bail by the lower court in the ED case. For more than 22 months, the CBI did not feel the need to arrest him. Such action raises serious questions on the arrest itself. This can be considered.

Strict comment on CBI

While giving the verdict on Arvind Kejriwal in the Supreme Court, Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan said that CBI should work to change its image of a caged parrot. He said that it should show that it is not a caged parrot. Justice Bhuiyan also said that due to judicial discipline, I am not commenting on the conditions imposed on Kejriwal.

Cannot be forced to give statement also

Justice Bhuiyan said that as far as the basis of arrest is concerned, it does not meet the requirement of arrest. CBI cannot justify the arrest by citing evasive answers and cannot continue the custody. The accused cannot be forced to give statement also. CBI is a primary investigating agency. No indication should be given that the investigation was not done properly.

What did BJP say?

BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia has given a statement on the Supreme Court’s caged parrot comment against CBI. He said that at the time of the coal gate scam, the corrupt Congress had made CBI a caged parrot. He said that the parrot in the cage has turned into an eagle today. It is scratching and biting the corrupt, that is why the corrupt are feeling pain.
