Uttarakhand: It has been raining in the state for 2 days, CM Dhami reached the State Emergency Operations Center and took stock of the situation, gave instructions to the officials
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh reached the Uttarakhand State Disaster Operation Center located at IT Park on Friday and took information about the rain in various areas of the state. He took information from the District Magistrates about the condition of rain, roads, drinking water, electricity supply and other things. The Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates through video conferencing to keep people in safe places from areas related to heavy rains and landslides. In view of heavy rains, along with arrangements for the stay of devotees and travelers at safe places, adequate arrangements of food and milk for children should be ensured. He instructed all the District Magistrates to keep all the officers in alert mode at all times.
The Chief Minister took information about the condition of water logging from the District Magistrates and directed for better drainage arrangements. He also asked to make people living on the river banks and other sensitive areas aware in case of rising water level of rivers. The Chief Minister directed Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman to keep a constant watch on the situation of heavy rains in every district. Work in better coordination with the districts, so that any emergency situation can be dealt with immediately. Keep a special watch on all the sensitive areas of the state, heavy rain and disaster prone areas. The Chief Minister said that immediate action should be taken on receiving any kind of information regarding the disaster. Also, instructions were given to keep the response time to a minimum. The Chief Minister instructed the District Magistrates that the connecting roads which have been blocked due to rain should be made smooth for traffic soon.
On this occasion, Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi, Joint Chief Executive Officer Md. Obaidullah Ansari, Director of ULMMMC Shantanu Sarkar, USDMA expert DD Dalakoti, Manish Bhagat, Dr. Pooja Rana, Rohit Kumar, Dr. Vedika Pant, Tandrila Sarkar, Jessica Terron etc. were present.
