DFO Tarai Central Forest Division Umesh Tiwari said that the forest department team had arrived from Ramnagar for the treatment of the elephant. The elephant was being treated vigorously. The team of doctors tried their best to save it. It is unfortunate that it could not be saved. After the post-mortem of the elephant’s body, further action is being taken.

A case will be registered against the driver of Haryana Roadways

DFO Umesh Tiwari said that the team of doctors of the forest department made every possible effort to save the female elephant. But she had suffered fatal internal injuries. Due to this, the treatment was of no use and the female elephant died during the treatment. It is being told that on Wednesday morning, a herd of elephants was crossing the road from the forest near Belbaba temple. During this, the female elephant walking behind was hit hard by a Haryana Roadways bus going from Haldwani to Haryana. The forest department is taking action to register a case against the bus driver.
