Also, very few youth of Uttarakhand have been selected in this recruitment.
Many videos are going viral on social media, in which it is shown that the selected youth do not know how to write Hindi. Despite this, he got selected for Gramin Dak Sevak, due to which the Regional Post Office is going to write a letter to the Post Office Directorate soon on this whole matter. So that some strict action can be taken on this matter.
Action was taken against 23 youths last year also
This is not the first case of youth selected on the basis of fake documents in the post office, but such cases have come to the fore in the year 2023 as well. During the recruitment taken out in the year 2023, action was taken against 36 of the selected youth. Also, an FIR was registered against 5 people.
In such a situation, now in the year 2024 also, a case of getting a job on the basis of fake documents has come to the fore, due to which the Uttarakhand Regional Post Office has sought a report in this regard from all the seven divisions of the state. Actually, during the year 2023, a letter was sent to the head office by the Uttarakhand Regional Office for recruitment to 1448 posts. In such a situation, during the year 2023, recruitment was done in three phases under Schedule 1, Special Cycle and Schedule 2.
Under all three schedules, the case of fake documents of 36 candidates came to the fore. In such a situation, 18 people were terminated and the joining of 20 people was cancelled. Also, a case was registered against five, out of the 18 people who were terminated, 13 candidates had joined Almora Division and 3 candidates had joined Nainital Division.
Along with this, among the 20 people whose joining was cancelled, there were 7 employees of Dehradun Division, 7 of Nainital Division and 6 of Tehri Division. When the case of fake documents of the candidates came to light for the last few years, the CBI team reached the Uttarakhand Regional Office in the Indian Post Office and took information about the candidates.
During this, the Uttarakhand Regional Post Office Office had handed over the list of 1455 candidates who had joined as Gramin Dak Sevak from 2021 to 2023 to the CBI. In such a situation, the CBI is investigating the documents of all these postal servants who have joined at its level. However, in the year 2024, letters for recruitment of a total of 1,238 posts under three schedules were sent to the Head Post Office, for which the youth have been selected.
Documents are being examined
In such a situation, before the selection of all these youth, their documents are being examined. In the initial investigation, three candidates each from Chamoli and Almora divisions have been caught, who were selected in the recruitment through fraudulent means. Therefore, an FIR has been registered against all these 6 people.
At the same time, Shashi Shalini Kujur, Chief Postmaster General of Uttarakhand Regional Post Office, said that a report has been sought from all the divisions regarding this matter. However, when the matter of fake documents comes to light, the candidates who have joined are terminated and the joining of the selected youth is canceled. Along with this, an FIR is also registered.
He also said that the recruitment process in the post office is online, so the candidates with the highest merit are automatically selected. After this, the documents of the selected candidates are verified.
Let us tell you that there are a total of seven divisions of the post office in Uttarakhand, which include Almora, Chamoli, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Pauri and Tehri divisions. Also, a total of 2736 post offices are being operated across the state under all these divisions. However, before the year 2016, the recruitment of rural postal workers was done from the divisional level, but after the year 2016, the Government of India changed this process and started the process of recruitment at the national level. Therefore, after the year 2016, recruitment is being done completely through online medium, in which merit based youth are being selected on the basis of 10th pass mark sheet.
