Uttarakhand: Sub District Hospital, Narendranagar received the prestigious National Certification Award by the Ministry of Health, Government of India
Only joint efforts lead to excellent honour, this was said by Swati S. Bhadoria, Mission Director, National Health Mission, while the Health Ministry, Government of India, honoured the Sub District Hospital, Narendranagar, Tehri Garhwal with the prestigious LaQshya (Labour Room Quality Improvement Initiative) National Certification Award for excellence in the field of maternal and newborn care. Through this award, the hospital’s quality services, safe delivery processes and unique improvements made in newborn care have been appreciated.
On behalf of National Health Mission (NHM) Uttarakhand, Mission Director, Swati S. Bhadoria congratulated the entire team of Sub District Hospital, Narendranagar for this important achievement. She said, “It is a matter of pride for our health institutions to be honoured with the LaQshya Award. This award reflects our commitment towards excellence in maternal and child health care. The Sub District Hospital of Narendranagar has become a model for other health institutions in this area.” He further said that this award has been given by the Government of India on the basis of the standards of service system of the hospital, rights and responsibilities of patients, support services, clinical services, infection control and quality control in the hospital. This prestigious certification has been achieved due to the dedicated service of health workers and efficient use of better resources. So far, 11 NQAS National Certification and 20 LaQshya National Certification have been received in the state of Uttarakhand.

The aim of this initiative is to reduce maternal and infant mortality and provide better health services to women during delivery. Importance of LaQshya National Certification Award
The objective of the LaQshya scheme is to ensure high quality care in labour rooms and operation theatres to achieve better outcomes in the delivery process and newborn care. The Sub District Hospital of Narendranagar has met all the required standards under this initiative, including safety of mothers and newborns, hygiene, timely delivery of services and humane care. This certification certifies the hospital’s commitment to reducing maternal and infant mortality and providing quality services.
