Dhami is angry over the cyber attack in Uttarakhand! In a level meeting with departmental officials, instructions were given to form a cyber security task force
In Uttarakhand, the Integrated Command Center of ITDA (Information Technology Development Agency) was down due to cyber attack last Wednesday. After this cyber attack, there was a stir in the administration. After about 72 hours, all the websites and applications of the Uttarakhand government started working. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took this matter seriously and held a high-level meeting with the officials today on Saturday, October 5.
During the meeting, the CM took information related to the malware in the State Data Center and the temporarily closed online services. At the same time, Chief Minister Dhami directed the officials to complete the scanning of the State Data Center as soon as possible and start the sites of departments related to public interest on priority basis.
CM Dhami expressed displeasure
Also told the officials that by Monday all the sites should start operating normally. Apart from this, CM Dhami, while instructing the officials in a strict tone, said that such cases should not happen again and a cyber security task force should be formed in the state as soon as possible for security related to online services. Along with this, with the help of big agencies of India working in the field of IT, the security of the State Data Center should be improved as well as modernized.
Instructions to set up Disaster Recovery Center
Not only this, safety audit of state data center and online sites should also be done within the stipulated time. Disaster Recovery Center should also be established for the security of online platforms and recovery of online data related to all departments. The best practices of states, central ministries and agencies doing better work in cyber security should be studied and implemented in the state.
The company should be reviewed again
CM Dhami said that the company doing technical work in ITDA should be reviewed again. If any kind of negligence is found during the review, then immediate action should be taken against the company. Along with this, all the posts should be filled as soon as possible by holding a meeting under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for the deployment of employees as per the need in ITDA.
Cyber security training should be given
Cyber security training should be given to all employees and officers. Along with this, the antivirus system should be updated in all government offices so that such incidents can be avoided in future. During the meeting, the CM instructed the officials to work in a planned manner so that such problems do not occur again.
Secretary Nitesh Jha said that there has been no loss of data due to malware on virtual machines in the ITDA data center. Out of 1378 machines, 11 were affected by the malware. The data center has been scanned several times in the last 2 days. E-office, CM helpline and other sites have started working.
