Dhami government is promoting adventure tourism, along with men, women of Uttarakhand are also taking free professional training in paragliding

Till now, tourism in Uttarakhand was mainly limited to religious and general tourism, but now the government of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is adding new dimensions to it through adventure tourism. In line with the vision of the Chief Minister, the Tourism Department is providing free paragliding courses to more than 700 youths.

Paragliding tourism is increasing in some places like Bhimtal in Nainital district and Maldevta in Dehradun in Uttarakhand. In view of the new possibilities, the Tourism Department is not only looking for new spots for this, but is also giving free training to the local youth. In this way, through their skills in adventure tourism, the youth will not only be able to earn their employment, self-employment, but will also be able to promote tourism in Uttarakhand.

In this sequence, the government is providing five different courses from basic to guided paragliding to the youth in a total of 15 batches in Tehri. The Tourism Department is providing free training, accommodation, food facilities in this. The department has set a target of training 741 youth in the first phase, out of which 124 are women.

There are immense possibilities of self-employment in the field of adventure tourism in Uttarakhand. Therefore, youth are being trained in adventure sports like paragliding, white water rafting, mountaineering. Our effort is that in the next few years, Uttarakhand should have adequate trained manpower in this field, so that adventure tourism in Uttarakhand not only flourishes, but it is also safe.

Success Story

01 – Sangeeta Rawat, a resident of Saud village near Sankri in Uttarkashi district, is also among the selected female trainees. Sangeeta runs an adventure tourism company in her area, now she wants to give new heights to her work through paragliding. Sangeeta is the only female trainee in her batch. So far she has learned to solo fly. Now after the advanced course, his training will be completed, Sangeeta calls it a wonderful experience and says that this will give new heights to adventure tourism in Uttarakhand.

02 – Bharat Joshi, a resident of Bhimtal in Nainital district, is doing a private job in Delhi after doing a diploma. Bharat Joshi says that he wants to return to his home, so as soon as he got information about the free paragliding course from the government, he got himself registered. Joshi says that many people are already working in this profession in his area, after completing the training, he will also return to Bhimtal, he has so far taken many training flights over Tehri Lake.

03 – Dinesh Singh, a resident of Kunaul village of border district Chamoli, is currently doing a contract job. Dinesh Singh is now taking training for the paragliding course organized by the Tourism Department. Dinesh Singh has completed two different courses in May, June and September, by February he will complete the training and get the license and will be ready for commercial flight. Along with Dinesh, three other youths of his village are also taking training. Dinesh says that the government is providing everything from food to accommodation and training for free. Dinesh Singh is thanking the Chief Minister for this.
