Uttarakhand: Dengue is spreading rapidly in Nainital, health department came into action after the death of a woman

Dengue is continuously spreading in Nainital district. This season, the first case of death due to dengue has come to light. The woman suffering from dengue died on October 7, but the ELISA test report was received on October 11, which revealed dengue. There is panic in the health department after the woman’s death due to dengue.

It is being told that a 48-year-old woman resident of Kathgodam New Basti had fever in the beginning of October. She was treated in a private hospital. When her condition worsened, the woman was admitted on ventilator in Sushila Tiwari Hospital in critical condition on October 5. But the woman died on October 7. The deceased’s 28-year-old daughter is a staff nurse in STH. She is also suffering from dengue. She has also been admitted to STH in critical condition, where she was treated. At the same time, symptoms of dengue were found in the woman’s husband and her son. This has been confirmed by the card test.

Principal of Sushila Tiwari Hospital, Dr. Arun Joshi said that the woman came to STH in a critical condition, who was admitted on ventilator, where she died. Chief Medical Officer Nainital Dr. HC Pant informed that 3 dengue patients are admitted in Sushila Tiwari Hospital. So far this year, 50 dengue positive patients have been found in the district. Out of which 33 patients are immigrants, while 17 are from Nainital district. Source reduction work was done in the homes of local patients by malaria team, dengue volunteers and Asha workers. Apart from this, health camps are being set up at various places to check the health of the people. Potential patients are being admitted to the hospital.
