Uttarakhand: A teenager who went to attend a Jagran was gang-raped by youths living in the neighbourhood, one accused arrested
A case of gang rape of a teenager who had gone to attend a Jagran in Haldwani has come to light. The youths took the minor to a garden and raped her in turns and fled from the spot. It is being told that both the accused lived in the neighbourhood. On the complaint of the girl’s family, the police have arrested one of the accused. While the other is absconding.
Gang rape of a teenager who had gone to attend a Jagran
The incident is from Mukhani police station area of Haldwani. The victim’s mother told the police in her complaint on October 11 that her 15-year-old daughter had gone to attend a Jagran in Paniyali area on October 7. While returning from the Jagran around 11:30 pm, two youths dragged her into a garden. There, both the youths gagged the teenager and raped her. After which both the youths left the teenager there and fled.
One accused absconding
The teenager’s mother said that somehow her daughter reached home. The teenager’s mother has accused Himanshu (24) and Ashish (23), who live in the neighbourhood, of the rape. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused and got the girl medically examined. SO Mukhani Vijay Mehta said that after the rape was confirmed in the medical, the police have arrested Himanshu. While the search for Ashish is still on.
