Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Drinking alcohol in public places proved costly for the drunkards, police taught them a lesson
These days, police across the state is running a campaign against those who drink alcohol in public places. In this sequence, police has taken action against 75 people. Along with this, the vehicles of six people who were driving after drinking alcohol have been seized and they have been arrested.
Drinking alcohol in public places has proved costly for drunkards
Dehradun police’s campaign against drunkards is continuing. SSP Dehradun has given instructions to take effective action against those who drink alcohol in public places, in this sequence, police conducted checking campaign in different police station areas last Sunday. Police checked people who drink alcohol in public places like forest, roadside, sitting in vehicles and those who drive after drinking alcohol in Raipur, Rajpur and Ranipokhari areas.
Police taught a lesson
During the checking, police challaned 75 people who were drinking alcohol in public under 81 Police Act and collected Rs 27,500. Along with this, police has challaned four people under Kotpa Act. Apart from this, six people were arrested on the spot for driving after drinking alcohol and all their vehicles were seized. This action of Dehradun Police will continue continuously.
