Uttarakhand Health Premier League started, people are being made aware through sports
Uttarakhand Health Premier League Cricket Tournament has started with the aim of increasing health awareness in Uttarakhand. State Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has launched Uttarakhand Health Premier League on Monday.

Let us tell you that as a unique initiative to promote health awareness in Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand Health Premier League (UHPL) Cricket Tournament is being organized at Maharana Pratap Sports College from 14 October to 20 October. In which eight teams from various government departments of the state are participating, which are playing matches on a special health related theme.
The match is based on these themes
In the Uttarakhand Health Premier League Cricket Tournament, National Health Mission (NHM) is playing matches on the theme based on complete vaccination, SIDCUL Uttarakhand Tobacco Control, Income Tax Department Tuberculosis Eradication, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Maternal Health, UPCL Non-Communicable Diseases, Post Office Water Borne Diseases, PWD Mental Health and CMO Dehradun Child Health.
Encouraging to stay healthy through sports
Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that the objective of this tournament is to provide important health related information to the general public and make them aware. The government’s goal is to make people aware about complete vaccination, tobacco elimination, maternal health and other health related issues. Through this tournament, we are encouraging the youth and the community to stay healthy through sports. In future, Health Premier League will also be organized in Haldwani and Srinagar.
NHM won the title
Let us tell you that on the first day, National Health Mission (NHM) defeated SIDCUL while playing a match on the theme of complete vaccination- ‘Show wisdom, get the child fully vaccinated’, which was played on the theme of tobacco elimination ‘Choose life, not tobacco’. SIDCUL won the toss and chose to bowl where NHM, batting first, scored 176 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Sidkul team was all out for just 117 runs in 18.2 overs and NHM won the match by 59 runs. Bidesh Dobhal from NHM team was declared man of the match for his brilliant performance.
UPCL won the second match
In the second match of Uttarakhand Health Premier League, UPCL playing on the theme of non-communicable disease- ‘Thoda Kam Tel, Sugar and Salt from today’ defeated Post Office which is playing on the theme of water-borne disease- ‘Uttarakhand Hai Taiyar, Dengue Manega Haar’. Let us tell you that UPCL won the toss and batting first scored 157 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Post Office team was all out for just 103 runs for the loss of 8 wickets and UPCL won the match by 54 runs. Gaurav Ghildiyal from UPCL team was awarded Man of the Match for his brilliant performance.
