Uttarakhand: 90,540 voters will decide the fate of the candidates in Kedarnath by-election

The Election Commission has announced the date for the by-election of Kedarnath assembly seat. Voting for the by-election will be held on November 20 and the results will be declared on November 23. By-election is being held on this seat after the death of BJP MLA Shailarani Rawat from Kedarnath.

90,540 voters will vote in Kedarnath by-election

Kedarnath by-election has become a matter of prestige for both the national parties Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party. Additional Chief Election Officer of the state Vijay Kumar Jogdande gave information about the election process. He said that a total of 90 thousand 540 voters will exercise their franchise for the Kedarnath assembly seat. Let us tell you that among the voters, there are 44 thousand 765 male voters, while 45 thousand 565 female voters will decide the fate of the candidates.

Notification will be issued on October 22

Additional Chief Election Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that the notification will be issued on October 22. The last date for nomination is October 29. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on October 30 and the date for withdrawal of nominations has been declared as November 4.

Seniors will get the facility to vote from home

The date for voting has been declared as November 20 and the counting of votes will be done on November 23. He told that 173 polling stations have been set up in Kedarnath assembly. Chairs will also be placed in the polling line in these polling stations. Apart from this, the elderly above 85 years of age will get the facility to vote from home.
