Uttarakhand / Nainital: Drunk driving proved costly, the car was seized and the driver was taught a lesson
These days Nainital police is running a campaign against those who drink alcohol in public places and those who drive after drinking alcohol. On Monday night, Bhawali police taught a lesson to a driver who was driving after drinking alcohol.
Driving under influence of alcohol proved costly
During the checking campaign, police saw that taxi driver Balwant Singh Rawat (34) son of Puran Singh Rawat, resident of Almora was driving in a drunken state (vehicle number UK01TA1482). Police stopped the accused at Khairna bridge and checked him with an alcohol meter and conducted a medical examination.
Driver was taught a lesson by seizing the car
Medical examination revealed that driver Balwant was drunk. Police has registered a case against the accused under MV Act and arrested him. Along with this, the vehicle of the accused has been seized and sent for cancellation of driving license. Bhimtal police has arrested a driver from near Boharkun.
