‘God’ will tell the status of all water sources across the country, scientists have prepared an app
Now you can know the status of water sources across the country in one click. Yes, scientists of NIH located in Roorkee have developed an app named ‘Ishwar’. With the help of which this is possible. Let us tell you that it took more than a year to prepare this app.
Ministry of Water Power approved the app
Actually, there are constant reports of natural water sources drying up and water decreasing, but the central government does not have any data about these sources at present. This app has been invented to solve this problem. The complete status of water sources will be recorded in this app. At the same time, the Ministry of Water Power of the Government of India has also approved this app of NIH. As a pilot project, with the help of this app, a survey of sources of four states is being started, which include Uttarakhand, Odisha, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh.
Survey will start in four states
Dr. Soban Singh Rawat, Scientist F in charge of Cell for Spring, NIH Roorkee, while giving information, said that for the first time in the country, some work has been done regarding the survey of water sources. As a pilot project, with the help of the app, the survey of sources is being started in four states of Odisha, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh including Uttarakhand. He told that most of the people living in the mountainous areas are dependent on the source i.e. spring for drinking water. According to Dr. Soban Singh Rawat, the matter of drying up of sources or reduction in water due to climate change is constantly coming to the fore.
How will the app get all the information
Let us tell you that the government does not have any accurate information about the sources. This is the reason that no project has been started regarding the treatment of sources and their recharge, now it is expected that the survey of sources will be done with the help of Ishwar app. According to Dr. Soban, about 22 information including photos have to be uploaded in the app. After which the app will ask for information one by one and after entering all the information, the source will be geo-tagged. After which, with its help, monitoring of all the sources will be done easily.
It will start from Nainital
In such a situation, if any source dries up or there is less water in it or there is some problem, then its information will be easily available. Dr. Soban told that it is being started from Nainital in Uttarakhand. Let us tell you that a survey has been done with the app in the area of Tawi river in Jammu. Here, complete information of 469 sources has been uploaded on the Ishwar app. In Chamba, Himachal, 981 water sources have been surveyed and uploaded on the app. The condition of these springs can be seen from anywhere with just one click. Dr. Soban told that springs or sources across the country will be on the app, this will also help in stopping migration from the mountainous areas.
