Uttarakhand: Rudranath temple doors closed for winter, Doli left for Gopinath temple
The doors of the fourth Kedar Rudranath temple have been closed for the winter season today. Today, on Thursday, in the Brahma Muhurta, the doors of the Rudranath temple have been closed for the winter season as per rituals.

The doors of the fourth Kedar Rudranath temple have been closed for the winter season on Thursday in the Brahma Muhurta. Now the Lord will give darshan to the devotees in his winter seat. Today, in the presence of hundreds of devotees, the temple priest Ved Prakash Bhatt got the doors of the temple closed as per rituals.
By late evening, the Lord will be seated for the winter stay
Let us tell you that the Utsav Vigrah Doli of Lord Rudranath Ji has left for the winter seat Gopinath Temple Gopeshwar. The Utsav Vigrah Doli of Lord Rudranath Ji will cover a distance of 18 kilometers today. After this, Lord Rudranath will be seated in the winter seat by late evening today.
Lord Shiva’s face is worshipped here
Rudranath Dham is situated in Rudraprayag district of Garhwal division of Uttarakhand, which is called the fourth Kedar. In Rudranath, the face of Shiva is worshipped. It is believed that this temple was built by the Pandavas during the time of Mahabharata. Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of Neelkanth in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
It is said that the face of Shiva’s bull avatar appeared here. Therefore, this Shivling is also known as Swayambhu Shivling. The shape of this Swayambhu Shivling is like a face whose neck is crooked. This Shivling is a natural Shivling whose depth has not been ascertained till date. Many small temples are also established around the temple which are dedicated to the five Pandavas, Mata Kunti and Draupadi.
