Recommendation to dissolve Madrasa Board, stir increased in Uttarakhand, Child Commission Chairman gave a big statement

The matter of these two spit jihads in Uttarakhand is being discussed a lot. Meanwhile, a letter has been sent by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights to all the Chief Secretaries of the country. In this letter, it has been recommended to dissolve the Madrasa Board. The discussions on this matter have heated up. Former Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Priyank Kanungo, while being the Chairman, had sent a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states on October 10 regarding ‘Protector of faith or oppressor of rights: Constitutional rights of children vs. Madrasas’.

In the letter sent to the Chief Secretaries of all the states, the then Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has recommended that “merely forming a board or taking the UDISE code does not mean that the madrasas are following the provisions given in the RTE Act, 2009. In such a situation, the funding given by the state governments to madrasas and madrasa boards in all states/union territories should be stopped, as well as madrasa boards should be closed.’

Along with this, it has also been recommended through the letter that “all non-Muslim children should be removed from madrasas and admitted to schools to get basic education as per the RTE Act, 2009. Also, children of the Muslim community who are studying in madrasas, whether they are recognized or unrecognized, should be admitted to formal schools. Education should be given as per the prescribed time and curriculum as per the RTE Act, 2009.”

After the letter sent by the then Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, the Uttarakhand Child Protection Commission has also become more serious on this matter. Also, regarding this matter, Dr. Geeta Khanna, Chairperson of the Uttarakhand Child Protection Commission, is going to hold a meeting with the Education Department on the Madrasa Board on October 22. Dr. Geeta Khanna, Chairperson of Uttarakhand Child Protection Commission, said that when the matter of illegal operation of madrasas came to light in Uttarakhand, she had written a letter to the Chief Secretary and asked him to investigate the entire matter.

Gita Khanna said that when the matter of illegal operation of madrasas came to light, she had found during inspection that despite the existence of a Madrasa Board in the state of Uttarakhand, most of the madrasas were not registered. In such a situation, when the Madrasa Board was talked to on this entire matter, they said that they can only talk about those madrasas which are registered with them. Geeta Khanna talked to the Education Department on this matter.

Along with this, Geeta Khanna said that she will write a letter to the Chief Secretary giving reference of the letter received from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, so that the recommendations made by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights can be implemented at the government level. She said that there is no need for madrasas in formal education. In such a situation, there is no justification for the Madrasa Board.

What does the Madrasa Board Chairman say

While talking on the phone, Uttarakhand Madrasa Board Chairman Mufti Shamoon Kazmi, without saying much, said that the only Madrasa in Uttarakhand is the Roorkee-based Rahmania Madrasa. Which is given money by the government. In which the salary of the employees as well as other arrangements are spent. The system of giving money in this Madrasa has been going on since the time of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, all the Madrasas registered with the Madrasa Board are not given any money for salary etc. Arrangements for computers, furniture, labs and other things are provided by the government. He said that efforts are being made to modernize the Madrasas. A part of which are NCERT books. Therefore, not only religious education is being given in Madrasas. NCERT books are also being taught here. In such a situation, the Madrasa Board will not be dissolved anywhere.
