BJP government closed many institutions, worked against the sentiments of Uttarakhand, said Govind Singh Kunjwal

Senior Congress leader and former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Govind Singh Kunjwal has accused the BJP government of the state of working against the spirit of Uttarakhand. He has also accused the Chief Minister of the state Pushkar Dhami and Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat of making empty announcements. He announced to protest against this on October 25 after a 24-hour fast.

Former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Govind Singh Kunjwal in Almora said that the BJP government of the state is currently working against the basic spirit of Uttarakhand. He said that efforts are being made to close the institutions built during the Congress rule in the mountains. At the same time, many institutions have been closed. There is a case of Salam Jainti in Jageshwar assembly constituency, where they have closed the Forestry Training Institute and shifted it to Haldwani. After this, the government closed the Civil Engineering trade of the Government Polytechnic opened in Civil Engineering and closed it too. When he was an MLA in Jainti in the year 1996, a government college was opened there, at that time it was opened with Arts and Commerce subjects. Between 2012 and 17, when the Congress government was in power, it was also given recognition as a science stream. After that, when the BJP government came, they repeatedly demanded the construction of a science laboratory building, but the government has not been able to construct it yet.

He said that the Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister also came to Janti and announced it, but the funds for it have not yet come. Currently, a government order has been issued to transfer this subject on the pretext of not having a laboratory. He said that in protest against this, he has decided that he will observe a 24-hour fast on October 25 at the Bharat Mata temple located in Janti. During this time, the further strategy of the movement will be prepared.
