Uttarakhand: 12th Governing Body meeting of Uttarakhand Health and Family Welfare Committee chaired by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi

With the aim of making good use of the large number of oxygen plants installed during the Corona period and ensuring safe Chardham Yatra and tourism in the state, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed the Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department to keep adequate number of oxygen concentrators at all high altitude Dhams, tourist places, hotels and dharamshalas including Adi Kailash, Kedarnath. As an initiative to reduce maternal mortality rate in the state, Chief Secretary Raturi has directed to immediately start a pilot project in Haridwar. Along with this, he has given instructions to make maternal death audit mandatory to reduce maternal mortality rate and effective coordination between the Health Department and NHM. In view of achieving the target of making the state TB free by 2025 on time, the Chief Secretary has directed to identify TB-dominated areas and run special campaigns there. While chairing the 12th Governing Body meeting of Uttarakhand Health and Family Welfare Committee in the Secretariat, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has instructed the officials that special focus should be given on the improvement of medical services and human resources rather than building excessive buildings and infrastructure in the field of health and medicine in the state. The Chief Secretary has also given instructions to increase health literacy at the grassroots level in the state.

In today’s meeting, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi approved the proposal for rationalization of honorarium of personnel working under National Health Mission Uttarakhand. Along with this, she provided various financial approvals for various works of central oxygen pipeline and manifold, oxygen plant in Community Health Center Salt and Chaukhutia and oxygen plant and shed works in Community Health Center Sahaspur and Doiwala.

Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal, Additional Secretary Swati Bhadauria along with officials of Health, Medical and Family Welfare, Finance, Rural Development Department were present in the meeting.
