Before retiring, CJI Chandrachud gave a gift to journalists, now LLB degree will not be required for this work in the Supreme Court

CJI DY Chandrachud has given a big gift to the journalists before leaving. The Chief Justice of India has given exemption to the journalists covering the news of the Supreme Court. Now the journalists covering the news of the Supreme Court will not need an LLB degree.

CJI did two things

According to a report by Bar and Bench, the CJI said that we are doing two things. I have signed a file to increase the number of accredited reporters for the Supreme Court. I did not know for what reason there was a condition that you must have an LLB degree. We have given relaxation in this.

Permission given to journalists

With this permission of the CJI, journalists have been allowed to apply for accreditation in the apex court even without legal background. He said that accredited journalists will now also get parking facility in the Supreme Court premises. A pre-Diwali function was organized in the Supreme Court premises on October 24. The CJI said this while talking to the media during this time.

I will rest for a few days after retirement

Let us tell you that CJI Chandrachud took charge on November 9, 2022. He is retiring on November 10. Earlier, during a program in Bhutan, when he was asked about his retirement, he had said that he would rest for a few days after retirement. He had proposed the name of Justice Sanjiv Khanna for the next CJI in his place. President Draupadi Murmu has approved his name. His appointment will be effective from November 11.
