Uttarakhand: Kedar Sabha demands no fireworks on Diwali in Kedarnath Dham

Keeping in mind the sensitivity and religious dignity of Kedarnath, Kedar Sabha has demanded a ban on fireworks and unnecessary drums and other musical instruments during this year’s Diwali festival in the Dham. Kedar Sabha has given a memorandum to the President of Badri-Kedar Temple Committee. In the memorandum given to Badri-Kedar Temple Committee President Ajendra Ajay, Kedar Sabha President Rajkumar Tiwari and General Secretary Ankit Semwal said that every day, activities are being carried out to affect the religious beliefs of Kedarnath Dham. Effective action should be taken to prevent unnecessary drumming, musical instruments and sounds in the Dham.

It has been further said in the memorandum that even on the occasion of Diwali, lamps should be lit in Kedarnath Dham, but fireworks will increase pollution in this holy place. Which will be very dangerous for the Himalayas. Regarding the importance of Kedarnath Dham, it has been said in the Puranas that this place is between huge icebergs and glaciers and marshy land. Keeping in mind the religious and scientific values ​​here, unnecessary sounds of musical instruments and fireworks should be banned on Diwali.
