Suicide attack on a post near the border in Pakistan, 8 people including 4 policemen killed
At least eight people, including six law enforcement personnel, were killed and several others injured in a suicide attack targeting a police post in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday. According to sources, the blast took place at the Aslam check post in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan tribal district bordering Afghanistan.
Sources said that the attackers, who came on three-wheelers, hit the check post and security forces’ vehicles, killing at least eight people. The dead include four policemen, two soldiers and two civilians. Many other people were also injured in the blast, who were admitted to Miran Shah Hospital. Looking at the situation, it is being said that the number of casualties may increase.
An attack took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday too
A day before this incident, 10 police officers were killed in an attack on a check post near the Afghan border. The attack that took place yesterday also took place in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. In the attack, about 20 to 25 terrorists targeted the Frontier Constabulary post. This post is a police assistance force. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) took responsibility for this attack.
Terrorist attacks increased in Pakistan since 2021
Pakistan has been facing terrorism continuously since the Taliban regained control in Afghanistan in the year 2021. Especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
