Uttarakhand: Dengue wreaks havoc in Roorkee’s Thaska village, number of infected patients reaches 35

Dengue has been wreaking havoc in Thaska village of Narsan block in Haridwar district for the last one week. According to government figures, the number of dengue victims has reached 35. However, the health department is continuously conducting tests by setting up camps in the village. Yesterday also, blood samples of 106 patients suffering from fever were taken, out of which dengue has been confirmed in 13 patients. ELISA tests are being conducted on all the patients. Along with this, medicines have been given to 172 patients suffering from fever. Spraying of insecticides and fogging is being done in the village.
Let us tell you that the month of October is in its last phase and even if dengue had spread in this season, it has started to end. However, the havoc of dengue in this season has surprised the health department. Actually, dengue has wreaked havoc in Thaska village located in Narsan of Mangalore town at this time. The situation is that there are fever patients in every second house, although two days ago, the health department had organized a camp and taken blood samples of fever patients, out of which dengue has been confirmed in 13 patients, the number of dengue patients in Thaska village has reached 35 so far.
On Friday, a team of 15 doctors and health workers reached Thaska village under the leadership of ACMO Dr. Anil Verma from Haridwar, where the team organized a health check-up camp in the village’s government higher primary school. The team examined the health of 172 fever patients by going to the camp and door-to-door.
Along with this, medicines were also given by the team, while the team also took blood samples of 106 patients, whose ELISA test is being done. During the investigation by the team, due to the condition of eight fever patients worsening, they have been admitted to the dengue ward of Roorkee Civil Hospital by government ambulance. It is worth noting that the health department has set up a camp in the village to prevent the continuous increase in dengue patients in the village. Along with checking the health of the patients, the team is also providing medicines.
On the other hand, the relatives of the patients alleged that on one hand the health department is claiming to provide full facilities for the treatment of dengue, but the patients admitted in Roorkee Civil Hospital are being prescribed medicines from outside. On the other hand, Narsan Health Medical Officer Dr. Anand Srivastava said that Asha workers, Anganwadi and Dengue Volunteers teams are searching for dengue larvae by going door to door. Also, insecticides are being sprayed. Soon the entire situation will be brought under control.
On the other hand, Gram Pradhan Ajayveer Singh said that the number of patients suffering from fever in the village is very high. Doctors have admitted eight patients to Roorkee Civil Hospital and more than 50 fever patients are undergoing treatment in private hospitals.
